This Bishan resale flat underwent a dramatic transformation into an industrial loft-style home for a creative professional who wanted a space that reflected their bold personality. The design embraces raw, honest materials while balancing them with warm, inviting elements that make the space feel like home rather than a warehouse. Exposed concrete ceilings serve as the foundation of the industrial aesthetic, complemented by custom black powder-coated steel shelving units and a striking feature wall of reclaimed brick. Edison bulb pendant clusters hang above the dining area, casting a warm amber glow that softens the space during evening hours. We sourced vintage leather armchairs and paired them with a rich walnut coffee table to create a cozy conversation nook. The open-plan kitchen showcases matte black cabinetry with brass hardware, topped with honed granite countertops that hide everyday wear beautifully. A rolling steel ladder provides access to the loft storage area, doubling as an industrial art piece. The bedroom offers respite from the bold common areas with softer textures and blackout curtains, while still maintaining cohesion through the continued use of warm walnut and subtle steel accents.
